Ryan Neading

Chief Information Officer - Rackspace

Officially I’m the Chief Information Officer at Rackspace; but I often think of myself more as a Chief Integration Officer, because decisions I make around Rackspace information technology systems, strategy and policy impact our business as a whole. During my time at eBay, my work for leaders across the organization gave me a unique perspective on the value and importance of cross-organizational integration, not only to benefit the end customer, but also to better engage employees. When we work as a team, everyone wins. Today my responsibilities range from managing internal IT systems and tools, global technology operations, vendor relations and customer engagement to now serving as Site Leader for our Austin Office.

As a leader, I think it’s extremely important to give back, because we need to model what we want to instill in our teams. I play an active role in several of our Employee Resource Groups including Racker Parents, which provides support and resources for working parents, and our P.O.W.E.R group, which aims to open leadership paths for women in technology.

In my personal time, you’ll probably find me flipping tires in the cross fit yard, fiddling with one of my latest inventions in the garage, or spending time with my family. It’s important for me to stay connected with the technical community, so feel free to message me if you’d like to learn more about Rackspace or my role as CIO.
